Irrigation Sprinkler Systems

Sprinkler System
Irrigation sprinklers are a must-have equipment to help water the plants on vast areas such as farms, golf courses, and lawns. It is an automated watering system to provide plants with the water they need, when they need it. It is also an effective cooling system for the surrounding area and to reduce dust during dry season.

The Different Types of Sprinklers Industrial Sprinklers
Spray heads are sprinklers that spray water in a pattern. Sprinklers can spray with a full rotation or a partial one depending on the ball or gear drive and the mechanism it was set to do. For industrial purposes, rain guns are the most appropriate type of sprinkler to use. This type operates at a very high pressure setting. Just like most sprinkler types, it is buried in the ground and is operated with the use of electric and hydraulic irrigation controllers.

Residential
When it comes to sprinklers for residential lawns, there is a wide variety depending on the size, the cost, as well as the complexity that is available nowadays. Some sprinklers that can be used for home lawns are impact, oscillating, drip, and underground sprinkler systems. Most home lawns require a small type of sprinkler. These are readily available in local home and garden stores as well as in hardware stores, and they usually come cheap. Oftentimes, this type is not necessarily installed. Instead, it is attached to a faucet and placed on the lawn temporarily. There are those that can be installed permanently but this would require professional install as it has to deal with the plumbing system as well.

Underground Sprinklers
As the name suggests, underground sprinklers are installed under the ground upon which plants are planted on. Usually, the water stays at the bottom until high pressure is applied to make it spray out into the ground. Patterns like full rotation and partial rotation are also options for this type of sprinklers.

Farm Sprinklers
These sprinklers are those that move from one end of the field to the other with the use of wheels. This is quite expensive compared to other types of sprinklers because it requires an installation of a lane where the sprinkler would move, also called rolling pipe. This became a favorite type of irrigation system for most farmers especially those that deal with large farms.

The Use of Sprinkler Systems
Sprinklers are part of an irrigation system. This is how water is distributed all over the fields that require watering. Mostly, this system consists of plumbing, piping, as well as controller equipment. Plumbing is fitted to pull out the water needed. Piping makes a connection to all sprinklers to get the necessary water to spray out into the field. The irrigation controller system opens and closes the valves depending on the schedule set for the sprinkler to start and stop spraying. Most sprinkler systems have different control systems that are fully automated, and have sensors as well, to spray depending on the weather and on schedules that have been set.
